- The Hull Dock company had a fire station on the east side of Waterhouse Lane near the junction with Carr Lane (St. John's Street) from sometime before the 1850s (seen on the 1853 OS). This map also shows a "Fire Engine House" within the Citadel estate to the east of the River Hull.
